Mass Timber Construction Paris | 8th - 9th October 2025 | Hôtel Renaissance Paris La Défense, France

OVERVIEW

Europe is a clear leader in mass-timber construction—home to 60 of the world’s 84 tall timber structures (eight-plus stories), according to a 2022 count by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat—and there’s no shortage of ambition to scale up. In preparation for the Olympic Games, Paris who normally builds grand monuments has chosen instead to focus on sustainable timber structures. The city is highlighting the expanding potential of wood across various sectors, championing an eco-friendly approach that extends well beyond the Games. This initiative aligns with France’s broader sustainability objectives, which include a commitment to reducing carbon emissions in the construction industry by 55% by 2030.

As part of this effort, the country is increasingly incorporating wood into new builds, including the use of innovative wood-based components. Europe accounts for a significant 37.2% share of global revenue. Breath-taking structures such as the Paris Aquatics Centre and Berlin’s Edge Suedkreuz showcase the advancements and versatility in mass timber technology. With the unlimited potential and capabilities that engineered timber brings, the French government has allocated €200 million in subsidies to support projects utilizing wood and other biomaterials to encourage the use of timber in construction. Additionally, it is advocating for at least 50% of timber buildings in France to be constructed using locally sourced wood from PEFC and FSC-certified forests.

Even in Germany, timber is set to displace other emission-intensive building materials like cement and steel as it looks to decarbonize its construction sector, according to a government strategy. The government will act as a role model and pioneer in climate and resource efficient construction in its own buildings. Financial incentives for construction with wood and sustainable building methods are to be developed to further drive the use of mass engineered timbe in building. In its third iteration, Trueventus is proud to present the Mass Timber Construction Summit. The conference will feature a gathering and of Europe’s forefront experts in mass timber where they’ll discuss the latest advancements, technologies and techniques in mass timber construction. Gain firsthand experience on the opportunities in mass timber to streamline workflows, improve productivity and to generate revenue.
